Dealing With Self Promoters when you suspect someone of SPing (Self-Promoting) here is how you can take control of the situation:
The first few things you will need are:
1. An Office or personal space not in base, this way you are not calling them out in the middle of the HQ in front of everyone; No one wants to be talked to in front of their friends or co-workers, even in RL (Real Life) so taking them to another private room is like pulling them to the side! (Good thing to do and many scenarios)
2. A 3rd person; someone who is not bias at the situation preferable, and maybe an iC. A third person will be your witness; they can take screenshots and can contest to how everything actually happened. Someone who can also step in or help as needed.
3. Finally and most importantly! REASON, there needs to be a reason that you suspect them of SPing, it can sometimes be pretty easy to get promotions, such as Pay Day.
Investigation:
1. Please take them into an office or other room with your 3rd person.
2. Explain to them why they are there and why you suspect them of Self Promotion
3. Ask them their last Promoters (Maybe the last 5) also check Promotion logs
4. Look up promoters and talk to them, ask them if they promoted the person and to what rank.
5. If it was now proven that they were SPing, Let them know that you know they were SPing, Give them a chance to confess to it
6. Take the necessary actions such as Demotion, Strikes, or Fire.
**Remember: Not everyone needs to be fired for SPing! You can be lenient depending on number of Sped ranks, truthfulness etc.**
7. Please post in forums of the actions taken
**Remember: Screenshots are necessary please add them into forums and also add any person who was involved in the case such as witnesses and others who helped you take action**
